Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Let me just start off by saying, Happy New Year! I spent my Holidays in the beautiful Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! If you’ve never heard of this place before, it’s in-between Cancun and Tulum.

My parents take my brothers and I somewhere we haven’t been every year for our Christmas present. THANKFUL is an understatement. This tradition started 3 years ago. First year we went to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Year 2 was in Oahu, Hawaii, and then this year!

We stayed at the most beautiful resort Mahekal. WOW. Literally breathtaking. My favorite part about it was that the rooms were little beach huts/ bungalows. In my opinion, way better than a big ole commercial building.

My brothers and I shared a jungle room which was a 2 story beach bungalow (we were on the top floor) which palm trees surrounding it. We had our own balcony with two hammocks. It just so happens, that our family friends who came on the trip with us, were in the bungalow right across from ours with connecting staircases! That was convenient. My parents got the prime spot. There own beach front hut with a plunge pool! This was my go-to spot. Plus, it made for pretty photos. 🙂

I’m not going to go in detail about every single day of the trip because that is too long! I just wanted to share some photos I snapped while there. We got to see the first every discovered Mayan Ruins in Tulum. This was amazing to see, so my brother Nick and I had to get a handstand photo in front of the main building.

We did so many activities in Playa Del Carmen. Oh, and the main avenue was steps from our resort and was so cute! Great shopping and even picked myself up the new Stone Fox Swim bikini. On New Years our resort had a dinner and dance party by the pool. This was one of my favorite New Years so far. It was a blast dancing with the family and other random families.

Overall, this trip was absolutely amazing. I am so grateful for the family that I have and that I get to spend time and laugh our asses off on vacation. If you ever go to Mexico, Playa Del Carmen is the place to be! I’ve been to Cabo and Puerto Vallarta a few times and I like Playa the best. Next time I want to stay in Tulum!

Now that I am back, I’m getting back into my fitness (which is killing me) and getting back into the groove. So excited to see what 2017 brings!

Thanks for reading! And enjoy the photos 🙂
