What Supplements do I Take?

I often get asked about what supplements I take. To answer that, I kind of take a lot of supplements. No, you don’t NEED every single one of these if you’re only working out for an hour a day 3 times a week. However, I train pretty hard and spend hours in the gym so the supplements I take are very beneficial for my recovery and training. I take products from two different companies; SFH (Stronger. Faster. Healthier.) and Xendurance. Both products are top of the market and the cleanest. If you’re going to use protein, don’t just buy a cheap one because you don’t want to spend money. If you want the most out of it, then invest in quality products. I saw a quote once “Don’t buy protein where you buy your toilet paper” which can not be anymore true. Heres the order of each that I would take throughout out the day. (P.S. I forgot to include my SFH Fish Oil in the photos, so I pulled one off their site to show!) Enjoy! 🙂

SFH WSO3 Fish Oil.

EVERYONE should be taking this. Even if you don’t workout! I take it right when I wake up. Fish Oil is very important for overall health and wellness. Not the shitty kind you get from CVS, I’m talking high quality liquid form fish oil. You literally have to take like 11 of those CVS capsule form garbage to come close to one teaspoon of SFH’s serving. This one is specifically designed for women but men can take it as well. It has Omega 3 Fats, Vitamin B12, 3200mg of EPA/DHA, etc. Basically this helps with bone and joint health (recovery), clear skin, hair growth, and if you’re pregnant (don’t worry I’m not) its great for you and your baby! So many benefits with taking this fish oil! I honestly just started using this and I couldn’t be more excited!

SFH  Coconut FUEL.

SFH FUEL is an anytime whey protein that is made for everyone! This is the shit. I don’t take this everyday, but when I do it’s in the morning. I will typically have a FUEL shake when I don’t feel like making breakfast, or if I coach the AM classes. I also use it to make overnight oats with, and it’s amazing! If you’re a coffee drinker, mix a scoop in your morning coffee. That will really get your day going!

SFH Fruit Punch PUSH.

If you need a good pre workout, this is the one. Some people are scared to try pre workout, or can’t find one that doesn’t give them the jitters. PUSH does not give you those twitchy, itchy lips like a lot of other pre workouts I’ve tried, and trust me, I’ve tried quite a few. It tastes like a CapriSun too! I don’t take this everyday either, just when I need an extra push that day. Get it? PUSH? haha.

“SFH PUSH stimulates drive and focus for demanding training; providing energy, endurance enhancers, hydration, antioxidant protection and BCAAs for protein synthesis.” (SFH.com)

Xendurance Creatine-JB.

Yes, girls take Creatine too. No, it doesn’t make you “bulky”… you have no idea how tired I am by that word. Anyway that’s a whole other subject. Let’s talk about muscle recovery. Here is what Xendurance has to say about creatine. “If you want to increase lean body mass and boost strength, then supplementation with creatine is effective in helping you achieve these goals. Creatine also enhances anaerobic performance, controls acidity in muscles and helps mitigate the effects of lactic acid accumulation.*” (Xendurance)

There are tons of benefits of Creatine and again, not the cheap stuff. Xendurance is 100% pure Creatine. “Creapure™” is a form of creatine monohydrate and is widely considered to be the purest and finest quality micronized Creatine Monohydrate on the market today, which is one of the reasons it’s a preferred creatine for many professional strength, speed and power athletes.*

So yes, if you’re trying to really reach your goals as an athlete, then use it. I take this everyday with my Fuel-5 carbs! It tastes like green skittles.

Xendurance Fuel-5

Mmmm I looooove carbs. Yes, I love bread; but that’s not what I’m talking about right now. Fuel-5 is what I take mixed with my Creatine pre-workout. I’ll drink this as I mobilize before a training sesh. It helps keep me going during the whole entire session. It’s not a pre-workout because it doesn’t have caffeine. These are just carbs.

“Fuel-5 provides the body with several carbohydrate fuel choices to choose from and is designed to promote fast, immediate energy, as well as long, sustained energy. The blend also supports the stabilization of blood sugar levels during training by utilizing the different forms of carbohydrates. In addition, Fuel-5 has both the energy vitamins B6 and B12, electrolytes, magnesium, and calcium to help assist with cellular nutrition balance.*” (Xendurance)

I take 2 scoops of Fuel-5 a day. One pre-workout and one in my protein shake post-workout which by the way, tastes like a tootsie roll pop. Your body needs carbs as well as protein when your done working out. This helps eliminate the lactic acid or muscle burn you get from working. Again, NOOO these carbs won’t make you “bulky”. It’s all about the recovery!!

Xendurance Protein.

Last but not least, PROTEIN! Duuuuh. If you don’t get enough protein in your diet, then a good way to get some is by drinking a protein shake. If you are working out every day then YOU NEED to be taking protein if you can’t get it all by eating. Protein shakes are a great post-workout to give your muscles instant recovery since most of the time you aren’t hungry 15 minutes after busting your butt in a WOD. Like I said earlier “Don’t buy protein where you buy your toilet paper.”

“XENDURANCE PROTEIN also contains 1500 mg of lactate, the body’s preferred and most efficient fuel source over glycogen. This key muscle fuel helps you lower exercise induced body acid, allowing your body to recover faster. In addition, XENDURANCE PROTEIN contains the US Recommended Daily Value of vitamins B6, B12, D, along with 4255mg of BCAAs and essential electrolytes.*” (Xendurance)

There you have it folks. All the beautiful supplements I use for maximum recovery and training. Now go & get after it!

Welp, see ya later!
